Safety at I Love Dogs

No dog is ever at risk in our care

Fire protection

With everything happening, it is only natural to be concerned about fires. Unfortunately, three quarters of Varympompi were burned, but out of professional responsibility, and above all so that you can feel reassured, we would like to describe the safety measures we have put in place at I Love Dogs in the event of a fire.

I Love Dogs infrastructure

  • Fully fenced area with double-wire fencing
  • 2 guard stations with security staff on the north and south sides of the kennel
  • The owner’s house is located at the center of the kennel
  • Cameras with recording systems are installed around the perimeter and throughout the kennel
  • In the event of a power outage, there are 4 heavy-duty generators

We have been designated a fire safety island for the entire Varympompi area

I Love Dogs

Our fire protection system releases 100 cubic meters of water per hour

We have a borehole, 8 water tanks, and multiple water cannons with a 70-meter range that release 100 cubic meters of water per hour. To help put that into perspective, an average fire truck releases 3 cubic meters of water over 15 minutes, while our system releases 100 cubic meters per hour. A helicopter drops 2 to 3 cubic meters of water instantly.

The strongest proof that our fire protection system works perfectly is what happened during the 2021 Varympompi wildfire. Not only was not even a single leaf burned at I Love Dogs, but with our automatic fire suppression system alone, we helped stop the fire for the entire surrounding area.

In case of evacuation

  • We have prepared a dedicated fire-safe zone, cleared around the perimeter and equipped with its own fire protection system.
  • Around three quarters of the kennel perimeter has been cleared with fire safety zones (firebreaks).
  • We have 4 trained firefighting teams, equipped with suits and masks, and 18 high-pressure fire hoses drawing water from tanks with a capacity of 400 tons of water, in addition to our borehole.
